Joss and 'Liza in the Big Dollhouse

Nathaniel here. Given that I'm been gone a week you may have read this elsewhere but I need to share. I need to talk to you about it the way I need air, water and actresses.

E!'s TV guru Wanda broke what is possibly the best news I've heard all year: Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly) is returning to television. The small screen always needs him. Why waste time on yet another disposable superhero movie (like Wonder Woman) that the suits will ruin anyway when you can be creating another series for the ages? Joss, ever one to sweeten what's already delicious, adds a cherry on top: Eliza Dushku (Faith the Vampire Slayer) is coming with him. The baddest B.K.* TV babe of my lifetime will star as "Nora" in the new series Dollhouse loosely adapted from Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece.

I kid. I kid. I'm just so happy right now. Here's the basic gist from FOX

Echo (Eliza Dushku) [is] a young woman who is literally everybody's fantasy. She is one of a group of men and women who can be imprinted with personality packages, including memories, skills, language—even muscle memory—for different assignments. The assignments can be romantic, adventurous, outlandish, uplifting, sexual and/or very illegal. When not imprinted with a personality package, Echo and the others are basically mind-wiped, living like children in a futuristic dorm/lab dubbed the Dollhouse, with no memory of their assignments—or of much else. The show revolves around the childlike Echo's burgeoning self-awareness, and her desire to know who she was before, a desire that begins to seep into her various imprinted personalities and puts her in danger both in the field and in the closely monitored confines of the Dollhouse.
